AIF trainer Kiran crashes in Hyderabad

On Thursday, an AIF’s Kiran trainer aircraft crashed in Hyderabad. The pilot escaped safely. IAF officials said, “Today morning around 11:45 AM a Kiran aircraft which took off from Hakimpet Air Force Station in Hyderabad for a routine training mission with a training cadet crashed”. The aircraft crashed at an industrial unit in Medchal district. A Court of Inquiry will tell the cause of the accident. The Kiran aircrafts are used for the first level taining of the pilots which are now replaced by Pilatus PC-7 basic trainers. At stage- II, the cadets use Advanced Jet Trainers (AJT) before moving to supersonic fighter jets.
