CTC to be given to 14 students

The Navodaya School Authority has been recommended by The Kandhamal district administration in Odisha to issue Compulsory Transfer Certificates (CTC) to 14 students who are accused of ragging. The group of students of Class XII have allegedly ragged and beaten up a boy of Class XI and have damaged the victim’s right eardrum. The incident happened inside the campus of Navodaya Vidyalaya at Tudipaju in Kandhamal district. Dr. Brundha D. , Collector of Kandhamal district said that an inquiry into the incident revealed about of some of the students who were involved in acts like ragging. So, in order to stop these types of violences the administration has recommended the school authority to take quick actions against them and to issue a CTC on them. The Navodaya Vidyalaya authority has made an inquiry, and a team from district administration led by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Kandhamal district has looked into the matter. As a primary punishment the 14 students accused have been barred from attending classes for 15 days. The incident came to be known after the victim was admitted in MKCG medical college and hospital in Berhampur on 16 th August. On August 11, during lunch time the victim had been beaten up very badly inside the hostel by his 14 seniors.
