IAF officer in judicial custody

Indian Air Force (IAF) Group Captain Arun Marwaha was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on the charges of leaking information to ISI agents, under the Official Secret Act (OSA). He was arrested on 8 Feb and was sent to 5 days in police custody. Yesterday, he completed his 5 days in police custody, and was sent to the judicial custody for 14 days by the Patiala House Courts, yesterday. During the police custody he was being investigated by a four-member-group of Intelligence Bureau (IB). Mr. Marwaha revealed in front of the IB investigators that he communicated with the ISI agents with the help of a dating app. The security agents are unable to get the chat history as the application had a feature – it automatically deleted the chat history after a conversation ended. He had also signed up for a premium membership of the app. The ISI agents, who posed as women used to send him friend requests. In this way they became friends on Facebook. Later, to escape surveillance, the ISI agents suggested to shift the conversations to the dating app. The police have written to Facebook to get details of the accounts of the 2 women who were friends of Mr. Marwaha. Forensic reports told that the 2 women had accounts of Facebook in the name of Kiran Randhawa and Mahima Patel and their accounts were deactivated just after the arrest of Mr. Marwaha. The investigators told that Mr. Marwaha is a skydiving expert.
