The Maharashtra government on Monday issued orders banning bullock cart races in the State, soon after the Bombay High Court ruled that races without any rules governing them should be prohibited. “The government is in the process of drafting rules. Until these rules are issued in the State gazette, no races should be held,” a senior official said.
