On Saturday, due to heavy rainfall in Shimla a land slip occured near the Dhalli area. According to officials 8 cars, 3 houses and a temple were damaged due to the landslip. Fortunately, no one died in the incident. People who were living in landslip prone areas had been shifted to safer areas. The landslip blocked the Dhalli-Shoghi road and many vehicles were stranded. A video showing the landslip trapping the vehicles, thrashing away houses, etc., has gone viral. Heavy machinery has been deployed to clear the road. Heavy rainfall caused landslips in some interior areas of the State also, but it caused minor disruption and no loss of life took place. For the next six days there will be a wet spell, according to the local MeT office.
